Freddie talks in detail about how he fished for shrimps out of West Mersea in Essex in the 1930s, then tells how he first came to Mallaig in April 1942 to work on the STS boat 'Orca' at Tarbet, Loch Nevis. Later became a deckhand aboard the 'Risor', a converted Norwegian yacht. Tells how he married a local girl Barbara Duncan and remained in Mallaig; Compares fishing in Mallaig and in Essex.
